The Domini Impact Investments IT Manager plays a hands-on role in all technology, telecom, and electrical aspects of the NYC Domini office. IT segments include database and web development, security, system administration, desktop support and training, and strategic planning and budgeting.
The IT Manager is responsible for selection, implementation, and auditing of all security technologies, including firewalls, endpoint protection, mobile device management, securing of third-party hosted data, remote access, and local resource privilege management. In addition, the IT Manager works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure all security practices comply with current industry and federal cybersecurity guidelines.
Database and Web Development
The IT Manager manages Domini’s public-facing websites as well as all business intelligence intranet sites. The IT Manager is expected to provide purpose-driven, script/code development based on input from internal Domini department concerns. In this creative function, the primary internal development partnerships include both Research and Marketing-based projects, although development can include any business area. The IT Manager will develop and maintain business intelligence processes and reporting systems. Additionally, the IT Manager will be involved in the selection and management of any external vendors providing custom database solutions.
The IT Manager is responsible for implementation and maintenance of a hybrid network of Windows and Macintosh workstations, as well as a Windows and Linux VMWare-based server environment. Documentation and inventory of system configurations as well as regular maintenance and lifecycle management are primary areas of system administration.
Desktop Support and Training
The IT Manager oversees the Desktop and Network Administrator, whose primary responsibilities are desktop support. In addition to oversight, the IT Manager provides desktop support expertise as well as managing vendor relations for specialized support situation. In addition to support, the IT Manager is responsible for providing direct employee training or selecting and providing access to training materials.
Planning and Budgeting
The IT Manager is responsible for all IT expense tracking and inventory, as well as annual budgeting and 3-5 year strategy planning.
Senior level experience (+5 years). Experience with the following technologies is required: Windows Server 2012 and newer, Windows 7 Pro and newer, Mac OS X, VMware/vCenter 5.5 and newer, VoIP,
firewall/VPN, Office365/Exchange administration, Microsoft SQL Server/MySQL, Apache, Linux/Ubuntu, PHP. Additional qualifications that are preferred: familiarity or experience in a regulated industry environment; certification in system administration and/or security; VBA and Microsoft Access experience; comfort with interdisciplinary tasks. Certifications in security-focused subject matter is preferred.
